During the height of the pandemic, when many businesses were struggling to keep up with the fast changes, Birute co-founded a video editing company and grew it into a seven-figure business in just one year. Even without a background in marketing and no media production degree, it was a very natural transition, as she’s always loved editing videos and teaching her friends and family how to do so.
When COVID first hit, the majority of businesses were forced to quickly go online, and she saw that as a welcome opportunity. The majority of entrepreneurs didn’t have time to learn video editing and social media marketing, and even those that did had to focus on other operational needs. Tiktok, Youtube, and other short-form videos were the least of their worries, but the marketing landscape was quickly changing and they had to adapt.
Within three days of operations, they quickly realized that they needed more people to join the team. beCreatives now has more than 30 employees from all over the world. Most of them are women and moms. Birute shares with us important lessons that got their business to where it is now that typical business books don’t talk about:
Keep a learning mindset. Being an entrepreneur means constantly trying to figure things out. There is no one way to do a single task – one size does not fit all. Business owners must always be open to learning new things, and listen to other people’s experiences.
Follow your intuition. Strength in this area allows entrepreneurs to make the right decisions at the right time. It’s a skill that can be developed through meditation. The practice of setting out one’s intention can be truly beneficial when trying to pursue a vision.
Be conscious of the energy and flow. Being on a team with people who maintain the same energy as she does and who share her and her business partner’s frequency makes her extremely grateful. She believes that the vibration you put into the business and the work that you do truly matters.
Much of the success that they have is rooted in deep listening and intentional business practices, on top of hard work and a ton of sacrifices.
Birute’s late husband always told her to give even if she didn’t have anything. Now that they are so successful, she’s even more generous, and one lucky Unconventional Lifer will be on the receiving end of this amazing offer. This week’s giveaway is a free discovery call with their creative director!
