“We are dreamers. We are doers. It’s not a contradiction. To create something, you first have to dream it.” Alessandro believes that art must do more than capture the eye. His work, no matter the medium, aims to go straight to the heart.
Having been raised by an art teacher in one of the world’s most beautiful places and Italy’s cultural center, Torino, Alessandro has been surrounded by art from a young age. However, it hasn’t been a straightforward path, as he initially decided to take Science Communication in college. He loves art but didn’t think he could make a career out of it. Alessandro thought the next best thing was journalism. Interning at a local newspaper, he discovered his love for writing and focused on advertising, mainly as a copywriter.
Fifteen years after and he started feeling like it was becoming just a job. The routine was slowly killing him inside, so he took a sabbatical and met his now wife, Paula, a yoga teacher. This is the reason he says yoga came to him in a language he could understand: in the form of a beautiful woman. Yoga became a huge part of him, appreciating the movement and its difference from other things like running or going to the gym.
Ten years ago, with his wife and one-year-old son, Alessandro quit his corporate job. He moved to India without any plans aside from practicing yoga. Asked to do a yoga video, Alessandro grabbed the opportunity. His work went viral during a period when everything on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram was still purely organic. There was no Tiktok nor the instant fame it could bring.
He didn’t think that his move to India was rational, but he listened to his gut and did it anyway. He took a chance on himself. Through his upbringing, advertising background, love for yoga, traveling, and photography, his production company was born. He didn’t go to India to build a business around his skills, but when he took that one big leap, the stars aligned.
